]]> We are so thankful for a one-of-a-kind learning opportunity Design Technology Institute, in Accra, has offered our high school students! Abednego is a graphic design student, learning Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, and more! He has even been given the opportunity to be a part of creating a movie for the school as a school project. So exciting!

Other TAL students, Remember and Leon, are also attending DTI, studying precision welding and fabrication. Here they are learning how to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, as well as learning to weld all different types of metals. Wow!

Where to even begin? This year is already off to a fantastic start and we are excited to share a little bit of the good news with all of you! But first…

The statistics around the world regarding human trafficking paint a genuinely dire situation that we cannot ignore. If you are reading this email, you have chosen to do something about it. Our First College Student!

Now, what you are REALLY here for…for the first time ever, in the history of TAL, WE HAVE OUR FIRST COLLEGE STUDENT STUDYING IN THE STATES!

Prince, standing in his village, on his way to pursue his education in America.

We couldn’t be more proud of Prince, who, after a rigorous process of interviews, essays, and academic assessments, was selected as a recipient of a complete, four-year scholarship to a private university in California! Prince is pursuing a Technology and Graphic Design degree and is adjusting beautifully to life in America.

To follow Prince and his big adventure here in the States, tune in to our social media channels beginning next week! You will not want to miss the beautiful send-off from his brothers and sisters at the Care Center, and all of the “firsts” Prince has experienced since leaving Ghana!

Thank you for all of your love and support. Our students are thriving in so many wonderful ways, and we couldn’t have such a powerful impact without each of you.

As the warmth of the fall sun changes and cooler temps blow in throughout the States, we know that means a new school year has begun!

Touch A Life students have also welcomed a new school year at The Learning Center, our specialized school at the Care Center for grades K-9, as well as high schools and universities all over the country.

Over the last few months, TAL also has two new incredible additions to the Care Center:

  • A beautiful new catfish farm!

  • A new team member, Selorm Nyamalor, Director of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support.

Selorm develops customized care plans with a trauma-based approach to meet the healing needs of each child at the Care Center. We are thrilled to have her years of experience and heart to serve the children as part of our team!

Summer is Here!
Hello, Touch A Life Family! HAPPY SUMMER!! We are thrilled to announce we have re-opened the doors of the Care Center to guests and volunteers and our students and staff in Ghana have loved reconnecting with everyone once again.
But before we hosted volunteers, we took several months to refresh the entire property, from resurfacing Opportunity Court to installing new ceilings and fans in the dorms. Thanks to so many generous donors, we have also been able to construct a new and expanded kitchen for our wonderful cooking staff, who so faithfully feed TAL students three homemade meals (from scratch!) every day. 
Our journey to becoming fully self-sustaining is progressing beautifully as we begin constructing a new catfish farm on our property!  A huge THANK YOU to Horizon Church in Allentown, PA, for donating the funds needed for this project! Every addition to the property and to the TAL program is possible because of your generosity and dedication to our students. Whether you give on occasion or you have joined our Global Family and give monthly, each of you are having a true impact on real lives in Ghana.

We are thrilled that the Care Center is more beautiful than ever before, our crops are abundant, our water purification system is now providing clean water not only to our students and staff, but to the surrounding communities as well, and the students are thriving… what else can be said but a huge THANK YOU! We couldn’t do any of this without you.
